La Venelle, the village of solidarity-based reuse: second-hand goods, repairs and a café-cantine in Montreuil

For those of you who like to shop second-hand, or who are fans of thecircular economy, a solidarity-based re-use village opens its doors in Montreuil on September 3, 2025. Over an area of almost 1,800m2, you'll be able to enjoy a new living space accessible to all, supported by nine players in the social and solidarity economy, featuring second-hand stores, a shared workshop, a cultural café and neighborhood activities, as well as professional integration, in a placedesigned as a pedestrian shopping street and a modern village square.

This will give a second life to objects, clothes and people alike, as the project will create 50 jobs in various sectors. The aim is"to bring about a new model of consumption, one that is more sober, more inclusive and deeply rooted in local communities". Formerly Ilôt Volpelier, located within the ZAC de la Fraternité, La Venelle is part of a larger real estate and architectural project, with 116 housing units around a shared garden.

L'Atelier R-ARE, Emmaüs Coup de Main, Emmaüs Défi, Envie, La Collecterie, Neptune, La Ressourcerie du Spectacle, La Recyclerie sportive and REFER have joined forces as an association to promote second-hand purchasing, with all reused, raw or overcycled equipment, at solidarity prices: household appliances, kitchen, decoration, furniture, fashion, office, sports, leisure, audiovisual...

The café-cantine "La Parallèle" welcomes you for a meal or a coffee, as well as to relax and enjoy a DIY workshop, a concert, screenings, exhibitions, conferences and even a tool bar - a whole host of activities available free of charge or for a few euros!
