At Maison Ora, just a stone’s throw from Saint-Lazare station, they take a holistic approach to women’s health, offering a dedicated space to truly care for yourself, with personalized consultations. While conventional medicine is often criticized for treating issues one by one without an overarching view, Kyria and the center’s practitioners provide guidance that puts women’s well-being at the heart of care.
Founded by Kyria Sokémahou, Maison Ora brings together different disciplines, from semi-private yoga sessions to massages, including biokinergie, in the heart of a calm little Parisian cocoon, where you can really take your time, far from 20-minute rushed consultations.
Therapist, herself living with endometriosis, Kyria spent nine years training across physiotherapy, body sciences and energy work.
Thought of as a “therapeutic sanctuary,” the place is the antithesis of cold medical clinics or sterile yoga studios, with its designer décor that blends the charm of a Haussmannian apartment with warm, Africa-inspired touches, right from the waiting room. We settle on plush sofas, which accompany Kyria’s warmth to evoke the past and the worries that bring us here.
We had the opportunity to try biokinergie (130€ for 1h30), a hands-on therapy that blends osteopathy, clinical rigor and traditional Chinese medicine, working on the fasciae, the nervous system, and the body's energetic circulations.
After a listening phase in which she identifies the points to address and a briefing on human anatomy to help us understand our bodies better, we move to the treatment table, where Kyria works with a gentle touch on numerous acupressure points and meridians, leaving the body in an almost meditative state.
Some even fall asleep! When they rise, you can feel that some knots and blockages have faded, occasionally triggering surprising bodily reactions as the body readapts. A few weeks later, some pains have disappeared!
The venue also offers semi-private therapeutic yoga sessions (Hatha, Yin, sound bath...), on Thursdays and Saturdays. Forget crowded studios: you’ll be a maximum of four people at a time, in a space with a stimulating, deep color palette!
Designed as masterclasses accessible to all levels, these sessions priced at 55 euros adjust the postures to how your body feels on the day, at your own pace, and they include a segment on female physiology. Ideal for those who need guidance, less suited for fans of dynamic, purely athletic yoga!
Massages, Rebozo therapies and perinatal support have been added to the Maison's offerings, giving women at every stage of life—from perimenopause to postpartum—the chance to reconnect and care for themselves.
This approach is aimed mainly at those who embrace an approach holistic perspective, where the body is understood in its emotional and energetic totality. If you’re looking for a simple conventional medical act, this isn’t the place! The sessions can, however, be reimbursed by complementary health insurance, falling under the category of alternative medicine.
Expect between €110 and €230 depending on the treatment—a price point that makes regular sessions challenging for many, but it reflects a deeply human listening quality and a session length that doesn’t try to rush you in under an hour!
