One of the most anticipated horse racing events of the year in Paris, the Grand Steeple-Chase of Paris has a rich history dating back to 1874. This legendary race takes place every spring in the French capital and attracts the world’s top steeplechasers aged five and older, along with jockeys from around the globe. It has become the benchmark for hurdle racing. This year, the race is scheduled for the weekend of May 16 and 17, 2026, at the iconic Hippodrome d'Auteuil.
This showpiece event is one of the toughest and most uncertain, where riders and, above all, horses will have to swallow an intense 6,000-meter course, punctuated by 23 obstacles, each more difficult than the last. These range from a simple hurdle to the "Justice of the Peace", considered the toughest obstacle on the course, with a jump of over 5m over a double fence. A unique opportunity to discover horse racing, made accessible to all thanks to tickets starting at just 5 euros.
Eleven hurdle races and five steeplechase races take place over two days of thrills and spills. There's alsoentertainment for the whole family, so that children don't get bored and can try their hand at the equestrian world. A free pony ride is also on offer, for an unforgettable day out!
