Rumors have been swirling for several months now, especially since that huge concert in the USA in 2023, featuring AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N'Roses, Iron Maiden and Tool! A few days ago, the Australian-British hard rock band also launched a countdown on its official website, accompanied by videos on its social networks. It's now official: AC/DC will indeed be touring the Old Continent in the summer of 2024 on their"Power Up Tour", with a series of dates that will put a smile on the faces of their many European fans.
From Gelsenkirchen in Germany to Dublin in Ireland, via London in the UK, Vienna in Austria, Zurich in Switzerland and Amsterdam in the Netherlands... AC/DC will be playing around twenty dates in Europe this summer. And good news for French fans, as the hard rock band will be making a stopover in the Hexagone for a unique, not-to-be-missed concert in the capital, on Tuesday August 13, 2024 at theParis-Longchamp racecourse. The site, located in the west of the capital, is famous for hosting the Solidays and Lollapalooza festivals every summer. In July 2022, theHippodrome ParisLongchamp also welcomed The Rolling Stones for a huge show.
Unsurprisingly, this AC/DC concert in Paris - the only date in France - is eagerly awaited by the band's fan community. It has to be said that AC/DC 's last French concert dates back to 2016. It was in Marseille. A year earlier, the Australian-British band had set the Stade de France alight. Since then, Malcolm Mitchell Young, the band's founder and rhythm guitarist, but also Angus Young's brother, passed away in 2017 at the age of 64.
Despite the death of this iconic hard rock figure, AC/DC is still admired and the announcement of a new tour was eagerly awaited. Since its formation in Sydney in 1973, AC/DC has been responsible for numerous hits, including " Highway to Hell ", " TNT " and " Back in Black ". The band's latest opus,"Power Up", dates back to 2020.
Today,AC/DC fans are beaming with happiness and can't wait to see Angus Young and the others live in Paris on August 13, 2024 at theHippodrome Paris-Longchamp. For this new European tour, Angus Young will be joined on stage by singer Brian Johnson, Stevie Young on guitar, drummer Matt Laug and Chris Chaney on bass, replacing Cliff Williams.
