Gaël Faye: guest at the Louvre for a carte blanche, the program

Having already welcomed Feu Chatterton! and Birds on a Wire, the Louvre is about to open its doors to a new artist. This spring, the famous Parisian museum gives carte blanche to Gaël Faye.

Rapper, singer, singer-songwriter, writer and poet, Franco-Rwandan artist Gaël Faye will be taking over the museum's halls and Michel Laclotte auditorium from March 25 to May 20, 2025. On the program? Several musical and literary events echoing the search for a new ideal of universality.

In detail, get ready to meet Gaël Faye at the Louvre for a nocturnal and poetic exploration on March 25. This will be followed by a masterclass in the Auditorium on May 13. On May 17, the eve of the Nuit des Musées, the artist will invite Rwanda's famous Intore dancers for an original performance. Finally, don't miss two concerts by Gaël Faye, on May 20 in the red halls of the Louvre. Tickets for these events will open on March 13 at 3pm on the Louvre's official website.

  Join Gaël Faye for a poetic nocturnal exploration of the Louvre's galleries in the company of artists from a variety of backgrounds.

  Masterclass at the Auditorium
  The artist will spend an hour discussing his carte blanche at the Louvre, as well as his creative process. This will be punctuated and illustrated by excerpts from his latest novel"Jacaranda" (Prix Renaudot 2024, Grasset).

  Performance for the Nuit de Musée
  For the Nuit des Musées, enjoy a unique experience under the Louvre Pyramid! For the first time, Gaël Faye invites the famous intore dancers from Rwanda. On the program? A performance alongside the royal drums of Burundi.

  Gaël Faye concerts in the red halls of the museum
  To round off this carte blanche at the Louvre, Gaël Faye will be giving two brand-new concerts. For the occasion, the artist will perform a re-orchestrated version of his works for voice and strings, as well as a number of new creations.
