His name is Fredrik Rydman, and he will be directing Louane 's upcomingEurovision performance. Swedish-born Fredrik Rydman is far from a novice in the field. The Scandinavian choreographer is already behind the staging of Nemo's performance, winner of Eurovision in 2024 with the song " The Code ". This year, the Swedish artistic director was chosen to imagine and design the scenography for Louane's song " Maman ".
And Fredrik Rydman seems to have a passion forEurovision. The Swedish director also designed the sets for two other song contestants: Finland's Käärijä, runner-up in 2023 with " Cha Cha Cha ", and Sweden's Måns Zelmerlöw, winner in 2015 with his song " Heroes ".
So, will Fredrik Rydman bring luck to France and enable Louane to reach the podium, or even take victory on May 17 in Basel? It's still too early to say. But for the time being, Louane is ranked 3rd in the contest according to the bookmakers. And Fredrik Rydman 's set design could well earn her extra points.
Eurovision is not Fredrik Rydman's only playground. The Swedish choreographer is also known for co-founding the street dance company Bounce in the early 1990s. When the company disbanded, he embarked on a solo career, notably with"Swan Lake Reloaded", a retelling of Shakespeare's"Macbeth", as well as revivals of"West Side Story" and"Romeo & Juliet". The choreographer has also collaborated with several major Swedish artists, including Robyn and Avicii.
A little more patience, then, to discover Louane 's performance in this staging by Fredrik Rydman. As a reminder, Louane will be performing live in the second semi-final of the contest, scheduled for May 15. She will perform her song " Maman " after the Georgian contestant and just before the Danish representative. Automatically qualified along with 5 other countries, France will officially compete against 25 other countries on Saturday May 17.
