Land of fire and ice, Iceland hides sublime treasures. Its moonlit landscapes take your breath away, with geysers, waterfalls and glaciers. But this tiny island lost in the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean is also known for its very rich cultural scene, literary and musical, of course. From Björk to Kaleo, and through Sigur Rós, Múm, Sólstafir, Emiliana Torrini, GusGus, Sóley, Ólafur Arnalds or Eydís Evensen... hard to mention them all.
If some of these artist names ring a bell, you might also know Ólöf Arnalds. A singer, songwriter, and performer, Ólöf Arnalds is among those vocal talents whose voice is entirely unique, reminiscent of a certain Joanna Newsom. Her voice has been described as “strange” by the New York Times, “stunning” by SPIN, “mesmerizing” by Rolling Stone, and “ethereal” by Vanity Fair. In the end, whatever label you choose, a listen is enough to be spellbound.
It’s no accident that the artist, active on the Icelandic music scene since the early 2000s, has already collaborated with Björk on the track "Surrender". The contemporary Icelandic folk singer has also been part of the group múm from 2003 to 2018. Ólöf Arnalds went solo thereafter, and to date has five albums, including "Spíra"; her most recent record is one she’s eager to present in Paris this spring.
For the occasion, Ólöf Arnalds will take over the intimate Paris venue L'Archipel on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, with Ana Talks To The Wind opening. To experience this unique, timeless musical moment, don’t hesitate to book your tickets. In keeping with its aim of offering affordable concerts, L'Archipel is selling seats at €21 (reduced) and €24 (full price) for this evening.
