And as good news never comes alone, Oasis has lifted the veil on the name of the artist who will handle the opening act. So, who is it? Who will have the honour of stepping onto France's biggest stadium and opening for Oasis in the summer of 2027 in Paris? Well, it is none other than Richard Ashcroft.

The British singer and musician, who opened for Lenny Kravitz in March 2025 and headlined at the Zénith de La Villette last June, is therefore Oasis's special guest on every date of this tour.

Born in Britain, Richard Ashcroft is best known as the singer and frontman of the band The Verve. Formed in 1989, The Verve released four studio albums between 1993 and 2008. The most famous remains undeniably Urban Hymns. Released in 1997, this third Verve album features four timeless singles, namely « The Drugs Don't Work », « Sonnet », « Lucky Man » and the hit « Bitter Sweet Symphony ».

In 2000, Richard Ashcroft kicked off a solo career and released Alone With Everybody, followed by Human Conditions in 2002 and Keys To The World in 2006. His latest solo opus, Lovin' You, came out in October 2025.

After years away from the spotlight, the English musician made a major live comeback in 2025. A friend of Noel Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft was chosen to kick off the celebrations in Britain and Ireland during Oasis's reunion tour. In 2027, the Britpop legends once again put their trust in him, inviting him to help gradually warm up the crowd next summer just before their return to the stage.
