To open Paris Opera Ballet season, Etoiles, Premiers Danseurs and the entire Corps de Ballet invite you to a grand opening held on Thursday September 21, 2017. The show will include a unique parade of 154 dancers to present the company.

This Thursday September 21, 2017, head to Opéra Garnier for a unique show: the Défilé du Ballet bringing together the Company’s 154 dancers including Etoiles, Premiers Danseurs, Sujets, Coryphées, Quadrilles and a hundred pupils of the Ballet School to the beat of La Marche from Hector Berlioz’s Les Troyens.

Then, Etoiles and Premiers Danseurs will dance George Balanchine’s Diamants from Joyaux (1967) with a music by Tchaikovsky. Dancers will be dressed by Christian Lacroix. This show will be the main event of the season 2017/2018 performed from September 19 to October 12, 2017!

Two new ballets will be added to George Balanchine’s Diamants in tribute to the choreographer from the Russian Ballet School: Trois Gnossiennes by Hans van Manen and Faun by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, mysterious and delicate pas de deux where emotion flows out of music and movement.

The Gala will be held in aid of the Paris Opera Ballet’s activities, what a wonderful occasion to discover Charles Garnier’s beautiful opera.
