Sometimes considered elitist, theParis Opera aims to be more accessible to the general public, and in particular to young people and families. Since 2015, the institution has been offering previews of upcoming operas and ballets, reserved for young people under the age of 28, accessible for just 10 euros, during 10 sessions (4 ballets and 6 operas), but you'll need to be very quick and on the lookout, as tickets are going fast!
It's a great way for young people to discover opera, without any pressure! You don't have to wear formal evening wear to attend these sessions, but you're just as welcome to wear your best dress or suit if you feel like it. All you need to do is create a spectator account, and reserve no more than two seats per person per performance. Proof of age (with photo) is systematically required on entry.
There's also a 20-euro Pass Jeunes, which gives you access to seats from 20 to 35 euros at the Opéra national de Paris and from 10 to 20 euros at the Comédie Française, not forgetting the Abonnement Jeunes, from 48 euros, which gives you access to seats from 16 euros for ballets and 25 euros for the season's operas.
