On May 14, 2025, the Carreau du Temple will welcome Dança Frágil, a creation by Companhia Híbrida, directed by Renato Cruz. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, this Brazilian company virtuously blends urban dance with contemporary reflection on the mutations of the body in the digital age. In this performance, acclaimed in Brazil, five performers explore the most current styles - hip hop, voguing, social networking dances - in a physical score that is both explosive and sophisticated.

The show opens with a succession of solos in which each dancer expresses his or her singularity in a visual aesthetic reminiscent of a performance or fashion show. Each dancer would evolve in a parallel bubble, as if on a digital thread, before the collective would reassemble and question the concrete reality of the dancing body.

By confronting the real physicality of the dancer with the standardization conveyed by the codes of social networks, Dança Frágil poses a lively question: what is becoming of dance in an era of short formats, viral performances and standardized gestures? Renato Cruz proposes a vibrant, carnal and political artistic response.
Dança Frágil would appeal to an audience curious about contemporary choreographic languages, and sensitive to the links between art, technology and society. A blend of virtuoso stagecraft and urban energy, Dança Frágil is as much a physical experience as a visual one, between individual tension and collective pulsation.
