Three figures inhabit the stage: Juliet, rebellious and free; Romeo, young and insolent; Sister Laurence, narrator-slammer. A forbidden love is born in a city wracked by hatred. Romeo and Juliet want to run away, defy the rules, live free. Sister Laurence's slam reveals hidden thoughts and tensions. Words slam, bodies respond: urgency, desire, tragedy. Each slam echoes a gesture, each gesture extends a word.
