Wuthering Heights heads from the English moors to the Théâtre de la Bastille. From November 16 to 27, 2026, Maëlle Dequiedt and the La Phenomena company present Hurlevent, a new production that blends Emily Brontë’s novel with elements of her life and poems.
The story of Catherine and Heathcliff is explored through childhood, class dynamics, and social violence. The adaptation and dramaturgy are by Simon Hatab. The production also draws on the imaginary worlds created by the Brontë siblings, rather than following the love story alone.
The music is performed live, featuring Nadia Ratsimandresy on the Ondes Martenot. She shares the stage with Youssouf Abi-Ayad, Sacha Starck, Émilie Incerti Formentini and Olga Mouak. Some passages are performed in English, with French surtitles.
The performance lasts 1h45. The first shows begin at 8:00 PM; those from November 23 to 27 start at 8:30 PM. On Saturday, November 21, the show is at 6:00 PM. An audio-described performance is scheduled for November 20, and a post-show Q&A with Élodie Pinel and Maëlle Dequiedt will follow the November 21 performance.
