We don't always see them, but our skies are more crowded than a highway: thousands ofinsects of all kinds fly and flutter over our heads, among the plants, in the flowers and trees that surround us. These little creatures can be difficult to spot. Fortunately, then, photographer Ghislain Simard is there to capture their beauty.
The artist presents us with some of his most beautiful pictures, exhibited on the gates of the Jardin des Plantes, from October 21, 2022 to May 14, 2023. Entitled Mini-Voltigeurs, this outdoor photo exhibition is free of charge.
These images highlight the fabulous spectacle of these insects in full flight, in their natural environment. Balance, speed, strength, agility: these little creatures are true masterpieces! They even inspire aeronautical engineers, who try to reproduce their movements, to imitate their design, their particularities.
Ghislain Simard's photographs allow us to appreciate the aerial talents of these insects, but also to (re)discover their beauty. The artist, recognized and rewarded for his work, knows how to emphasize his subjects, highlighting their colors, their lines, and even their environment.
Very beautiful photographs that bring lightness and color to our daily lives, to see and see again without waiting at the Jardin des Plantes.
