The Louis Vuitton Foundation gears up one last time for a nocturnal event dedicated to Calder, this Friday, July 3, 2026. DJ sets, guided tours, a workshop and suspended works shape an evening of balance and vibration.

At the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the night climbs higher—and moves. Friday, July 3, 2026, the final nocturne dedicated to Calder casts a summer breeze over the terraces of the ship-shaped building in the Bois de Boulogne. A evening where everything finds balance, sways, and hums, just like the mobiles of the master of motion.

For its upcoming exhibition, the Fondation Louis Vuitton will celebrate Alexander Calder with "Calder. Dreaming in Equilibrium" a remarkable retrospective running from April 15 to August 16, 2026. The show will feature nearly 300 works, including mobiles, stabile sculptures, and jewelry brought to life. In the striking architectural spaces designed by Frank Gehry, art will no longer be static... it will pulsate, sway, and dream gracefully in perfect balance. [Read more]

Pioneer of suspended sculpture, Alexander Calder revolutionized art by bringing material to life. His works float, dance, defy gravity—aerial ballet that has become his signature. From DJ sets that make visitors buzz as much as the pieces, micro-tours to decode the artist’s subtle balances, a creative workshop, Open Space, and moments of suspended contemplation, the Foundation becomes a living machine where the eye and the body enter the dance.

And because a great evening deserves a culinary centerpiece, a food-and-drink offering completes the experience.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation Night Program

Micro tours
Levels -1, 0 and 1
7:00 PM–10:00 PM (every 30 minutes at the marked “micro-tours” points)
Accompanied by cultural mediators, meet Alexander Calder! Wander the galleries to trace half a century of creation: from the late 1920s with the first performances of the Calder Circus that captivated Parisian avant-gardes, to the monumental sculptures that redefined public art in the 1960s and 1970s.

Open Space
Level 2, Gallery 8
7:00 PM–10:30 PM
Throughout the evening, a cultural mediator will illuminate the Armineh Negahdari exhibition What color is your sky today?. The artist works in the intensity of a flow where the hand, guided by intuition and hesitation, precedes the idea: a line emerges, carried by a physical engagement that yields images both powerful and fragile.

Workshop: Moving Herbarium
Level 2
7:00 PM–10:30 PM
Inspired by Calder’s exhibition, create a plant composition using dried flowers. Designed by artist Émilie Pria, this workshop invites you to express concepts dear to the artist—lightness, balance, gravity…

Program to be announced

Drinks & dining
Reception Hall
7:00 PM–10:30 PM
La Cantine du marché partners with the sandwich shop ZiNziN, sister to Gargouille, offering freshly prepared sandwiches for a tasty break. The bar features a local, seasonal lineup, including a Spring Basil Spritz!

In short, a night that hinges on Calder’s genius. Reservations coming soon...
