Reopened two years ago, the Musée des Égouts de Paris celebrates its anniversary with a wide range of activities for the whole family, from October 21 to 29, 2023, including treasure hunts, underground storytelling and creative workshops.

Spend a few hours underground at the Musée des Égouts! With almost 2,600 km of tunnels and gutters, through which over 300 million m3 of rainwater and wastewater pass every year, a veritable city teems with life beneath the capital. At the end of October, the Musée des égouts celebrates its two-year reopening, after years of work to make it more entertaining and immersive. A special program is offered to visitors for the occasion!

Street artist Mélanie Rostagnat joins forces with the museum to create a trail of painted plaques in the surrounding area. These thousands of little doors to our underground hide the pipes we need for our daily lives, and are thus sublimated and showcased on the sidewalks of Paris. It's also a way of highlighting the hard work of the people who work in the sewers. This treasure hunt invites you to unearth the plaques, with free admission to the museum as of October 23!

Two participatory workshops also await you, with the chance to learn how to make water-themed message stencils or colorize manhole covers, which will then be exhibited in the museum. A musical and burlesque show, poetic consultations and storytelling tours of the underground are also on the program!
