But few people can boast of having spent the night in the basements of Paris, among the dead... This exceptional evening gives you the chance to (re)discover one of the capital's must-see historic sites. The Catacombs are accessible from the 14th arrondissement: down a long staircase, you'll discover a vast ossuary housing the remains of six million people. This unique and unusual site attracts many curious history buffs.
The Catacombs are preparing to close their doors for several months: the site is completing a major cycle of works and must close completely to the public to complete the restoration.

In anticipation of this enforced absence, the Catacombs are organizing a farewell evening on the eve of the site's closure. This nocturnal tour, to be enjoyed from 7.30pm to midnight, gives visitors a last look at the ossuary before its final transformation. Of course, it's also an opportunity to take photographs, to keep a record of the past, and to compare with future changes!
An audioguide is provided, and tickets can be booked on the Catacombs website from October 26, 2025. Don't miss this final evening in the Parisian underground, before it closes!
