The Biennale d'Architecture et de Paysage returns to Versailles with a green thumb! For this 3rd edition, from May 7 to July 13, 2025, "La Vi(ll)e vivante" will be germinating ideas, exhibitions and encounters to rethink the city in terms of living things. An arty breath of fresh air, where construction, roots and creativity make common cause.

Attention urbanophiles and Sunday strollers in search of the great outdoors - from May 7 to July 13, 2025, the 3rd edition of the Biennale d'Architecture et de Paysage (BAP) takes root in Versailles ! A major event, essentially free of charge , orchestrated by the Île-de-France region in partnership with the royal city of Yvelines, to rethink the way we live, build and breathe the city.

Under the leadership of François de Mazières, Mayor of Versailles and former President of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, this year's event promises to be a fertile one. After two highly successful seasons (with over 200,000 visitors!), BAP 2025 returns with a theme as committed as it is lively: "Living Life". At the crossroads of urban planning and nature's roots, this edition invites us to reconnect the city with what grows, buds, adapts and inspires us. A manifesto for concrete solutions to climate change.

Thinking, dreaming, building... The Biennale d'architecture et de paysage 2025 doesn't just show, it brings to life. On the program: exhibitions, of course, but also conferences, debates, educational workshops and guided tours designed for all audiences, experts and the curious, as well as families!

The event takes over the most emblematic sites in Versailles, with a lively itinerary based around five major exhibitions:

  • At the Ancienne Poste, "Tout garder, tout changer" explores the paths of reuse and urban transformation
Tuesday to Friday: 12pm to 7pm and weekends: 11am to 7pm - Free admission

  • At the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Versailles (EnsaV), "4° Celsius entre toi et moi" puts architecture to the test of extreme heat.
Tuesday to Friday: 12pm to 7pm and weekends: 11am to 7pm - Free admission

  • At the Potager du Roi, "Nous... le climat" (We... the climate) deploys a 300-meter-long interactive table to think about landscapes in terms of ecological urgency.
Tuesday to Friday: 10am-6pm and weekends: 10am-7pm
Nocturnes until 10pm: every Thursday in June and every Saturday from June 7 to July 12
    Admission 5€.

  • The Musée Lambinet and the Espace Richaud will complete this constellation of urban reflections.
Wednesday to Friday: 12pm to 7pm and weekends: 10am to 7pm - Free admission.

  • An ephemeral pavilion on avenue de Paris, with the support of the Metropole du Grand Paris
Tuesday to Friday: 12pm to 7pm and weekends: 11am to 7pm - Free admission

And, for the occasion, the Galerie des Sculptures et des Moulages, nestled in the Petite Écurie opposite the Château de Versailles, is exceptionally opening its doors for the duration of the event, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:30 to 18:30.

"La Vi(ll)e vivante" is a city that breathes, an architecture that adapts, a landscape that dialogues with the future. More than an exhibition, BAP 2025 sketches out the plans for a new way of living in the world. What if Versailles became the pilot site for a greener, more vibrant future?
