Located in Montmartre, the mecca of Parisian artistic creation, Dalí Paris has been home to the largest private collection dedicated to Salvador Dalí for over thirty years. More than 300 works, brought together by collector and gallery owner Beniamino Levi, reveal the rich universe of the master of surrealism. Sculptures, engravings, oil paintings, drawings, and watercolors testify to the richness of his inspirations, from science to alchemy, through Antiquity, the Renaissance, and religion.

True to its vocation as a living space, open to dialogue between artistic generations, Dalí Paris today inaugurates an extraordinary exhibition: Dalí x Rubinstein, Illusions croisées. An unprecedented encounter between Salvador Dalí, a timeless figure of surrealism, and Patrick Rubinstein, a French pioneer offigurative kinetic art.

Two worlds, one fascination with illusion

While Dalí' s mental metamorphoses and Surrealist symbols unsettle the mind, Rubinstein's optical and kinetic games unsettle the eye. Both invite us to go beyond appearances and explore multiple realities.

In this exhibition, their works converse around common themes: femininity as enigma and muse, secrecy as intimate and hidden space, butterflies as messengers of metamorphosis and freedom, angels as spiritual figures, time as moving and elusive matter, and finally pop culture, which joins them to highlight an art that is colorful, modern, innovative and playful.

Through striking visual effects, Rubinstein pays homage to the Dalinian heritage while asserting a contemporary, geometric and luminous plastic language.

A scenography designed as an immersive journey

The exhibition unfolds in subtly interwoven thematic spaces, offering visitors an immersive experience where dream, light and movement intertwine. Each room becomes a doorway to another world: here, Dalí 's Venus de Milo finds an echo in Rubinstein 's floral muses; there, the Catalan master's Freudian drawers resonate with the multiple images that Rubinstein reveals depending on the angle of view.

The scenography, conceived as a veritable narrative thread, accompanies the viewer on a poetic and hypnotic journey. The works interact, respond and complement each other, blurring our reference points and reinventing our perception of reality.

Exclusive works created for Dalí Paris

Among the highlights of this exhibition are two new works by Patrick Rubinstein, specially conceived in collaboration with Dalí Paris, exploring the theme of time. Non-linear, elusive, reflected and multiplied, time here seems suspended in space, like malleable matter. These exclusive creations place the exhibition in a vibrant present, echoing the timeless legacy of Salvador Dalí.

A vibrant, contemporary tribute

More than a tribute, Illusions croisées is a sensitive encounter, a visual and poetic conversation between two artists separated by an era, but united by the same desire: to disturb, surprise and magnify reality.
In proposing this unprecedented dialogue, Dalí Paris confirms its role as a bridge between heritage and contemporary creation, and offers visitors an unforgettable experience, where art becomes a mirror of our own illusions.
