From June 5 to 7, 2026, photographer Emma Mena presents Les Écorcés vifs as part of the second edition of the Collectif Singulier, at Espace Coutures Saint-Gervais in the heart of the Marais district of Paris. This photographic work sits within a group exhibition bringing together 14 creators spanning contemporary jewelry, design, photography, painting, fashion, and crafts.
With Les Écorcés vifs, Emma Mena develops a series of mirror photographs and paper prints in which botanical traces, oxidation, and material wear intersect. Reflections, imprints, and surface transformations become the focal points of a visual inquiry into time and life.
This photographic practice probes what persists in disappearance. Through the marks left by nature and the transformations of matter, the artist invites a reflection on the fragility of living beings, the memory etched into surfaces, and the perceptions sparked by the mirror.
In a group show that blends craft, design, and contemporary art, Emma Mena’s work engages with other sensitive practices gathered by Collectif Singulier. The pieces chart a path where materials, gestures, and contemporary know-how resonate with one another.
Les Écorcés vifs is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the full duration of the exhibition in the heart of the Marais, with a vernissage announced for June 6, 2026, starting at 5 p.m., at the Espace Coutures Saint-Gervais, 6 rue des Coutures Saint-Gervais, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris.
