Before the national collections settle in there for good, the brand-new Centre Pompidou Francilien is poised to offer a first glimpse of its imposing spaces.
Designed as a hybrid hub for conservation, creation and exhibition, this cutting-edge site in Essonne opts to open its doors early to share with the public the buzz of its beginnings, just before the grand relocation of the artworks, during three weekends: October 17-18, October 24-25, and October 31–November 1, 2026. Discover the behind-the-scenes and the site's architecture!
Visitors will be able to explore 9,000 square meters spread across several levels. The visitor route is already punctuated by major works from the Centre Pompidou's collections, blending sculptures by Jean Dubuffet or Germaine Richier with video and sound installations by Clément Cogitore, Claude Closky or Douglas Gordon. Reservations for these free time slots will open in September 2026, so don’t miss your chance to secure a place!
Note that this is really an early look at the building in its bare form, not the museum in its final layout, which will be fully up and running only from March 2027 for its first major exhibition. To animate the space ahead of time, each weekend centers around a clear through-line: Architecture (October 17–18), Nature and Territory (October 24–25), then Playing Collectively (October 31 and November 1). The program for these festive sessions includes live performances, concerts, talks with artists and experts, but also rapid tours and numerous workshops designed for young audiences.
