Notre-Dame-de-Lorette church, located in the 9ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, is an outstanding example of the neoclassical style. Built between 1823 and 1836 under the direction of architect Louis-Hippolyte Lebas, it is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Its architecture is inspired by ancient basilicas, with a facade adorned with Corinthian columns and an interior richly decorated with frescoes and marble.
This know-how is safeguarded and showcased during the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art, the springtime artistic event in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, which enables the public to discover the craftsmen, their creations and their passion, who work daily to preserve France's tangible and intangible heritage. The facades of this Parisian church are currently being restored, making it the perfect time to come and see the work of the stonemasons and visit the construction site!
