Once again this year, the bear is coming down from the Pyrenees... to Paris! On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, starting at 7 p.m., the Museum of Hunting and Nature will become the den for the 7th edition of the Fête de l'Ours, a hair-raising event where light mingles with wild rhythms for a ferociously festive night.
Inspired by the ancestral festivals of Haut-Vallespir, classified as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, this celebration honors the legend of Jean de l'Ours, half-man, half-animal, symbol of the passing of the seasons and the renewal of life. This year, we gently accompany the bear into hibernation, in a ritual where body, light, and sound create a collective metamorphosis.
For the occasion, the Les Fantômes collective is creating a monumental mapping on the museum's facades: breathing, beating, disappearing... a sensory experience where light becomes skin and matter becomes memory. The party continues with a parade by students from the École du Louvre, aerial and contemporary performances by the ADE company, and a screening of Sophia Mainka's film We Used to Be Wild, a poetic exploration of the boundary between humans and animals.
And for those who want to dance before winter, Grand Bleu, in partnership with FG Radio, is offering an electro-pop DJ set, combining techno beats and animal vibrations, transforming the museum into a veritable forest of sound.
To keep hunger at bay, a bar and restaurant are available on site (paid service), so you can recharge your batteries before nightfall.
So, are you ready to awaken—or rather, appease—the bear within you? See you on October 29 at the Museum of Hunting and Nature for one last roar before the long hibernation.
