Contrary to popular belief, the Seine-Saint-Denis department is teeming with cultural gems to discover, and lush, green trails to wander along. Seine-Saint-Denis hides these little treasures waiting to be explored. Verdant footpaths invite you to stroll. La Grande Rando is a nearly 12-kilometer walk that has been running for eight years, guiding you along the heights of the towns in Seine-Saint-Denis. On September 27, 2026, you can choose from several starting times between 9:00 and 10:30, following the trail of the urban development project Le Grand Chemin, the green loop of East Paris.
If you complete the full route, you’ll start at the Dalle de la préfecture à Bobigny before reaching the Mairie de Romainville, crossing several of the territory’s iconic sites. Participants will in particular discover the Memorial, the Parc de la Bergère, the Canal de l’Ourcq, as well as the Parc de la Corniche des Forts, a true haven of nature offering remarkable panoramas.
Along the route, several rest stops will illuminate the history of the area. Participants are advised to wear suitable walking attire, comfortable shoes, and to bring a bottle of water and a picnic. You can choose between two options: a 12km route starting from Bobigny, or a 6km option that meets mid-journey from Parc de la Bergère at 2:00 PM.
A chance to discover the evolution of these parks and places, which are set to change again by 2030, with the Grand Chemin trail expected to stretch to 55 kilometers!
