Attention to speed freaks… with no engine! Sunday, June 14, 2026, the town of Mériel (Val-d’Oise, 95), in partnership with Les Épopées de Kraven, is revving up for the 2nd edition of its Soapbox Derby! Here, no turbo or nitro—just downhill momentum and a heavy dose of creativity to push your customized ride across the finish line.

How to get on the starting grid :

• Build your ride: a cart with no engine, but with plenty of style! (folk-inspired, preferably)
• Put together your pit crew: 1 or 2 drivers per cart, with pushers to get you off the line.
• Sign up now: €20 per participant (registration, license and insurance included).
• Download the rules before you race: dimensions, braking, safety gear, eligibility—everything is laid out in detail.
• Meet Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Abbaye Notre-Dame du Val in Mériel for the famous, hair-raising descent! The course will be specially prepared and secured for the occasion.

Not on the track? Take a seat in the stands! Come watch the department’s wildest machines sprint down the slope and cheer on the fearless pilots. On-site drinks and meals all day to recharge your batteries.
