Ready to get the jersey wet... literally? Open Swim Stars is back in Paris for a new edition that looks every bit as epic. The event challenges bold swimmers to conquer Paris by swimming, touching down at the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal de l'Ourcq across five open-water races, on July 11–12, 2026.
Both professionals and amateurs will take on distances of 500m, 1km, 2km (standard and with fins), 5km (same formats), the 4×500m relay, or the 8.5km Paris Open Water Swim, all within a public open-water swimming circuit. A real challenge!
This open-water event, designed to relive the challenge of The Crossing of Paris by Swimming, was created by former swimming champions who want to share their passion and spotlight urban open-water swimming. It’s a way to promote a healthful sport and raise participants’ awareness of water-related environmental issues.
Rest assured, you don’t need to be a professional swimmer to take part—anyone can dive in! Of course, spectators are welcome to come along, watch, and cheer on the swimmers in person.
