Été du Canal relaunches the festivities with the second edition of its flagship event, Canal en pagaies, on Saturday, June 27, 2026! You’re invited to Sevran, in the département of the Seine-Saint-Denis, to take part in the grand descent of the Canal de l'Ourcq, down to Pantin, for 10 kilometers of paddling, solo or with others, aboard a kayak, a canoe or a paddle, your call.
All told, you’ll paddle through seven towns along the canal in the Seine-Saint-Denis department: Sevran, Aulnay-sous-Bois, Les Pavillons-sous-Bois, Noisy-le-Sec, Bondy, Bobigny, and Pantin. You can bring your own equipment as long as it meets safety standards (€15 contribution) or rent a one-, two- or three-seat boat (€25–€50). Navigation will, of course, be paused for the occasion so you can paddle safely.
During your journey along the canal, you’ll encounter several musical, artistic, and festive stops and even a show upon arrival in Pantin to reward your efforts, organized by the city and the La Nef theatre . To register, keep an eye on the ticketing page on Explore Paris, which hasn’t opened yet. The general public can join in to follow the descent along the canal for free and cheer on the participants!
