The Grandeur Nature 2026 festival Grandeur Nature 2026 once again takes over the banks of the Seine and the Parc du Dispensaire de Sartrouville (78), this Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This festive, free day, organized by the City of Sartrouville with its partners (associations, schools, local shops), places urban farming and food at the heart of the program this year. Creative workshops, outdoor performances, canoe/kayak rides, tasting stalls and gardening advice: there’s something for all ages and profiles.
The schedule is packed, and that’s a good thing. In the park, you can try tree climbing (ages 7 and up, from 12:00 to 18:00), create a terrarium with young shoots of vegetables and strawberries, or join a bonsai workshop with a master (ages 14 and up). The more curious among you can attempt the making of an ema, the Japanese good-luck plaque to hang in the garden. Aspiring archaeologists, meanwhile, will go fossil- and dinosaur-hunting near the bamboo labyrinth.
Along the Seine banks, as part of Sundays on the Quay (Dimanches au quai), the waterfront is entirely reserved for pedestrians, cyclists, and scooters. Here you’ll find canoe-kayak outings (on-site registration recommended) and pony rides courtesy of Loiseleur. Stilt walkers dressed as a "tree man" and a "lady of nature" will mingle with the crowds throughout the day.
The music and arts scene is well stocked. A musical tale titled "From Seed Planted to Served Plate" will be performed by singer Claire Vernet, with pianist Stephen Binet, at 11:30, 14:30 and 16:20. A tree-top story show, blending storytelling with vertical dance, is scheduled for 13:15, 15:15 and 16:45. Leonard Bernstein’s lyrical recital "La bonne cuisine" will be sung by soprano Déborah-Ménélia Attal at 15:50, followed by a jazz concert to close at 17:15.
Grandeur Nature is also a showcase for local producers and artisans. Expect craft beer from Sartrouville, brewed by La P'tite Sœur, honey and wine sourced from the city's apiaries and vineyards, local products selected by Les bons accords, and edible flowers with microgreens grown in bioponic systems offered by Champerché. A genuine mushroom farm will be presented by Le Clos du Roi, and Vergers d'Hérouville will bring seasonal strawberries and asparagus.
Throughout the day, garden-advice stalls will be on offer: pest control (processionary caterpillars, tiger mosquitoes, Asian hornets), composting and mulching (with distribution at the corner of Rue Guy-de-Maupassant and Quai de Seine; please bring a container), and beekeeping, with hive viewing through a glass-walled area.
Also worth noting: as part of its pledge to plant 1,000 trees by 2028, the City of Sartrouville will distribute a 100% local herbarium featuring the 30 new species planted this year.
The Grandeur Nature festival takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Parc du Dispensaire and along the Seine quays in Sartrouville (78). Entry is entirely free and no prior registration is required. Sign-ups for workshops happen on site, upon arrival 15 minutes before each session. A small refreshment offering is available on site (oysters, tapas, grilled chicken, waffles, ice cream...).
