A new festival is making its debut in the Chevreuse valley. On Saturday, July 4, 2026, Cernay-la-Ville (Yvelines, 78) launches the Cern'estival, at the Parc Pelouse, from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. The concept is simple: to pack into one day the Music Festival and the Village Festival, in an atmosphere the town happily likens to a local Solidays.
It all began with a finding by the town hall team. Organizing two major events just three weeks apart had become unwieldy, juggling volunteers, equipment, the crowd, and musical acts that were often at odds from one village to the next.
The mayor, Claire Chéret, who also serves as vice-president in charge of culture at Rambouillet Territoires, has decided to bring everything together. The July 4 date is no accident: it sits right at the end of the school year, just as residents haven’t left for vacation yet.
The program runs all day, drawing on three broad themes: music and live performance, social cohesion and intergenerational activities, sustainable development and local know‑how. It offers you the chance to set your own pace for the day.
To bring this event to life, Cernay-la-Ville has enlisted a slate of partners, including l'Usine à Chapeaux for the concerts, Mobil'villages for the social dimension, the Bazar culturel, and Rambouillet Territoires for logistics. All commit to a sustainable development charter—favoring local products, cutting waste, and inviting visitors to be participants rather than mere consumers.
Practical details first: entry is free and parking is clearly signposted, with stewards, security personnel and civil protection on site. The full program can be found on the municipality’s website and at the Rambouillet Tourism Office. We’re keen to see whether this inaugural Cern’estival lives up to its promise of a smaller, Yeévines-friendly version of Solidays.
