Craving glamour, pulsating rhythms, and colorful costumes without booking a flight to Brazil? This Sunday, February 22, 2026, the 13th arrondissement of Paris will host its very first edition of Bloco Terreirada. This lively, free parade promises to get the neighborhood dancing with performances of capoeira, brass bands, and maracatu, and you're invited to join in the fun dressed up in your best costumes!
Forget about static parades—Bloco embodies the very heart of Brazilian street carnival: a vibrant mix of raw energy, soulful music, and communal spirit. Organized by La Terreirada, this event is more than just a parade. It’s a celebration of Afro-diasporic cultures, where lively batucadas and traditional dances come together. The festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with a roda de capoeira, setting the tone before the parade makes its way to Place d’Italie.
After dancing along to the lively sounds of the parade and maracatu drums, the celebration doesn't stop there. The procession will head to the Digital Village for a lively dance party. On the menu: a concert by Anderson Leal at 6 p.m., followed by a DJ set starting at 7 p.m. to keep the carnival spirit alive well into the night. The event is pay-what-you-can, giving everyone the opportunity to support this cultural project according to their means, while enjoying an electric, inclusive atmosphere.
And because dancing samba works up an appetite, the association has everything covered. You’ll also have the chance to dig into a full feijoada. This beloved Brazilian national dish, made with black beans and hearty meats, slow-cooked with care, will be served from 6 PM to 10:30 PM. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy this culinary classic in a friendly and lively atmosphere. Tickets are €16. Don’t forget to reserve in advance!
