The Printemps des Poètes event is a major festival celebrating the art of words and poetry. Since its inception in 1999, it has been led by the Ministry of Culture, with the goal of making poetry more accessible and bringing it beyond the page, directly into communities. For nearly a month, the region transforms into a vibrant hub of creative initiatives, driven by cultural organizations, associations, and poetry lovers alike.
This annual event offers a vibrant lineup: meet-and-greets with contemporary authors, speech workshops, slam performances, and temporary art installations. Each year, the festival centers around a specific theme, encouraging dialogue across generations and artistic genres. This year’s focus is on freedom. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the richness of today’s writing in welcoming and unusual settings.
The Pavillon des Canaux, nestled along the banks of the Canal de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement, embodies this vibrant spirit. Housed in a former canal office building, this alternative space offers a blend of café, coworking area, and cultural venue. Next Saturday, March 21st, unleash your creativity at the Les Intempestives festival!
During this workshop, collaboratively produce a poetic fanzine that brings together the writings and visual creations of the participants. Originating from alternative, activist, and artistic backgrounds, fanzines have always been spaces of freedom, experimentation, and sharing. Handcrafted and often independent of mainstream publishing channels, they serve as a medium to circulate ideas, evoke emotions, and explore new artistic forms.
This workshop embraces this spirit: coming together to create a collective, poetic masterpiece in a simple and joyful way—something both intimate and open to others. Everyone is welcome to bring their own poems, but they can also experiment with layout, collage, drawing, typography, or any other visual expression. The goal is to craft a collective fanzine that reflects the rich diversity of voices and perspectives, ensuring each contribution has its place.
No prior writing experience is required: this workshop is open to everyone, whether you want to contribute your own words or simply help bring the poems to life through visual art. Writers, readers, graphic enthusiasts, or just the curious—your perspective and creativity are warmly welcomed.
A joyful gathering to write, create, and share ideas... and leave with a one-of-a-kind zine made by and for the participants. The workshop requires prior registration and operates on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a recommended donation of €15.
