The Printemps des Poètes has been a fixture since 1999, launched by the Ministry of Culture. Its goal is to introduce the public to the vibrant and diverse world of poetry through a wide array of events. To mark the occasion, museums, libraries, bookstores, and historic sites across France host a variety of activities and performances.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of events such as concerts, author meet-and-greets, open mic nights for budding poets, film screenings, and themed competitions. Each year, the festival revolves around a national theme that ties together the different activities; this year's focus is freedom. It's a wonderful opportunity to highlight both legendary classical performers and contemporary creators, all set against the backdrop of historic venues often rich in cultural heritage.
The Follow the Spire construction site at the Basilica of Saint-Denis is taking part in a grand celebration of poetry. As part of the ongoing effort to rebuild the basilica’s spire, special activities are planned for this event, located in the forging and stone-carving zone where words and craftsmanship come together, on March 21.
In celebration of International Poetry Day on March 21st, La Fabrique de la Flèche in Saint-Denis is hosting a unique immersive poetry experience! The day will feature a continuous stream of poetic video capsules, a panel discussion dedicated to Paul Éluard's work, daring transdisciplinary performances, and a poetic reading by a leading figure of the contemporary arts scene.
