Calling all writers and poetry enthusiasts! The Spring of Poets is bringing a bloom of events across the capital. Whether you're ready to step into the spotlight or simply want to immerse yourself in poetry as a spectator, an original evening awaits you on March 20, 2026, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.
As part of the Les Intempestives festival, the gathering takes place at the Baranoux, a community-driven, solidarity-focused venue, transforming into a poetic cabaret with an open stage. The evening's theme is "Your entire body writes the infinity of our futures," inspired by Alexis Pauline Gumbs's poem "Non-Noyées," a queer, Black American feminist poet addressing a threatened species — the Caribbean manatee.
Poets can sign up on the spot starting at 7 p.m. for the open mic hosted by Florence Verney. She will lead a brief introductory moment to help you connect with the audience, asking you to share the name of an animal, a mythical creature, or a part of your body (or all three) that inspired your poem. This volunteer-run festival operates on a pay-what-you-wish basis, promising a meaningful evening of reflection and poetic meditation.
