We had an exclusive preview of the attraction—here’s everything you need to know!

Ready for a trip to the heart of Arendelle? Frozen Ever After, the ride dedicated to The Snow Queen, has opened its doors at Disneyland Paris— specifically in Disney Adventure World, on March 29, 2026, in the heart of the zone dedicated to the Arendelle universe. This boat ride promises to whisk families away on an adventure alongside Elsa and Anna, with film-inspired decor, music and iconic scenes.

What's the attraction all about? It’s a boat ride—a watery experience featuring several scenes drawn from Disney animated films, with one or more drops, in the style of Pirates of the Caribbean, an attraction you can find in Disneyland Park. As for the building housing this boat ride, two stories tall and spanning 7,900 square meters of floor space, it’s hidden behind a 40-meter-tall mountain, plus a rendition of Elsa’s Ice Castle designed to play with perspective.

A closer look at Frozen Ever After

Located at the entrance to the Clock Tower, Frozen Ever After will take visitors of all ages on a boat ride alongsideAnna, Elsa, and their companions. The journey, punctuated by iconic songs from the film such as "Do You Want to Build a Snowman"and "Let It Go," will allow you to meet Olaf, Sven, Kristoff, and other key characters. The journey will take visitors from the snowy forest to the Valley of the Trolls, before reaching Elsa's Ice Palace and ending in style in Arendelle Bay, illuminated by snowflake-shaped fireworks.

The attraction will feature particularly advanced technology, with next-generation Audio-Animatronics and a combination of lighting, sound, and immersive projection effects. The Walt Disney Imagineering teams are continuing to program these devices to offer a spectacular visual and emotional experience.

Our take on Frozen Ever After at Disney Adventure World:

An attraction we were able to try, exclusively, more than a month before its opening... An experience that should appeal to families and fans of the animated film. Why? Because the scenes stay faithful to the medium of the original, just as the songs that this whole crowd will surely sing along to in the ride.

To recap the concept: it’s a fairly classic boat ride (boat voyage with a drop, for the note), at least in its first act. The latter portion, however, introduces novelty, with several small descents, and especially a boat that, after a spin, sails in reverse to pivot again before a final, rather impressive drop. It may not be groundbreaking for other parks (and certainly not for Disney parks in Florida, Hong Kong, and Tokyo), but it is a first for Disneyland Paris.

As you’ll have guessed, the ride exists in other resorts, but each has subtle differences (extra scenes, different routes, etc.). Yet all versions now feature Disney’s latest animatronics, ultra-sophisticated (we won’t go into detail, but hydraulic systems have been replaced with electric ones, making the animatronics more lifelike, less robotic, and especially far more fluid in their movement, we’re told). Indeed, these animatronics move with a much more fluid and realistic cadence compared to those in Pirates of the Caribbean or Phantom Manor, for example.

A ride that will also please parents, especially those who crave a bit of sensation. Why? The final drop, quite steep and performed in darkness, is abrupt and even downright sharp. Not necessarily suitable for very young children who might be startled. No minimum height requirement, we’re told as well.

Another point: the story behind the ride. While the various scenes loosely follow the first film, they’re tweaked to align with the narrative of the ride that unfolds after the two feature films. It’s subtle; some dialogue is lightly altered to fit the chosen timeline. And when the text isn’t changed, the intent behind certain lines shifts, as with the song Let It Go (Let It Go...). Here, Elsa is already “let go,” and thus her speech takes on a different meaning. Elsa here is celebrating her release.

Now, our tips:

The drop is going to sting...

The final plunge is fairly sharp in our view, almost vertical (when compared to Pirates of the Caribbean, for instance), which might scare some kids. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for very young children (under 3-4 years is a no for us), but feel free to judge whether your little daredevil is up for it (or accustomed to thrills). In any case, there’s a safety bar at the ride’s launch, and even if it doesn’t lower to a very low point (we found it still quite comfortable around the thighs), it’s secure enough for everyone. So no safety worries.

In English, please!

Also note: the songs are in English, and exclusively in English. By contrast, the dialogue is bilingual: in French and English. For young francophone children, comprehension may be tricky. And for a park in France, one might have expected the songs in French (Tokyo’s attraction, by contrast, features Japanese songs...). So it may disappoint some... Consider yourselves warned.

Patience mode: activated!

Regarding the queue: there is no preshow, but the various rooms and corridors help pass the time. Purists may miss the preshow, which often helps to smooth and energize the wait. The line looks long, yet we rode it at 100% capacity: under normal conditions, it’s sectionable and wait times won’t be as extreme. At opening, crowds will be high, then should settle over time, as was the case for Avengers Campus attractions after a few months. It might be wise to delay your visit to the ride, or use the time to explore Arendelle and the rest of the resort.

We’ll come out... slightly damp

And obviously: you will get wet, not just a little. If you want to avoid getting soaked, aim for the middle seats in your row (there are four rows of four seats, 16 people per boat). Note the availability of a single-rider line (if you’re solo, it speeds things up) and Premier Access (for those paying to shorten the line).

An attraction featuring around ten scenes and two drops—one gentle and one more thrilling... But don’t worry: it’s designed to be family-friendly. Young children can enjoy a safe and exciting ride.
