The 19th edition of the Vert Avril fair will take over the Villa Saint-Cyr in Bourg-la-Reine, in the Hauts-de-Seine, from April 10 to 12, 2026. Free admission, engaging activities, plant exhibitors, and workshops for all ages.

One of the most eagerly anticipated spring events in the southern Île-de-France is back. The Spring Green Fair, organized by the town of Bourg-la-Reine with support from the Hauts-de-Seine Departmental Council, is set to return for its 19th edition from Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 12, 2026. Taking place at the Villa Saint-Cyr (25, boulevard Carnot), this green and sustainability expo is completely free to attend. Each year, it draws over 6,000 visitors and this time, its theme is particularly timely: “Nature in the City”.

How to Reconnect with Nature in the Heart of the City?

For three days, Villa Saint-Cyr transforms into a vibrant open-air garden, hosting over thirty exhibitors: horticulturists, nursery owners, landscapers, and sellers of rare plants, palms, orchids, and bulbs. Visitors can also discover carefully crafted artisanal creations—handmade metal decorations for home and garden, costume jewelry, textile accessories—as well as local vendors committed to sustainable practices, including beekeepers, community-supported agricultural producers, and a maker of organic, vegan natural soaps.

What activities are planned for VertAvril 2026?

The schedule is packed and designed to cater to all ages. Throughout the weekend, city gardeners will be hosting repotting workshops, while Suez and its partner Suivez le Guide will offer educational activities focused on the water resource. Visitors can also exchange seeds — don’t forget to bring some of your own — and meet the animals from the Petite Ferme du 36 (goats, rabbits, pigs, sheep), which kids can pet and even bottle-feed, making it a fun experience for the little ones.

The detailed schedule by day:

  • Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11 (2 PM - 7 PM): Roaming magic shows with Professor Tritou, workshops on creating sculptures from recycled bike parts with Happy Recycle, and information on fighting the tiger mosquito with the Regional Anti-Mosquito Campaign

  • Saturday, April 11: Making seed bombs, a mini mural on biodiversity, and a big nature quiz organized by Bourg-la-Reine in Transition; floral walkabouts and rose giveaways with the dancers of CD'Event (10:30 AM, 11:15 AM, and 12:00 PM); storytelling sessions about nature by the Bourg-la-Reine Media Library (4 PM)

  • Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 (10 AM - 12 PM and 3 PM - 5 PM): Making bird feeders and decorating small birdhouses; an eco-friendly version of Skyjo—an ecological transition game for kids aged 9-12—organized by Jeunesse Ambassadrice pour le Climat et la Biodiversité

  • Sunday, April 12: Jazzy vibes with the Jazzdiniers (10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2 PM); local Furikake workshop and zero-waste awareness activities all day with Vallée Sud – Grand Paris

What kind of food can you find at Vert Avril?

When it comes to flavor, the fair certainly doesn't hold back. On Saturday and Sunday, visitors can indulge in specialties from So Portugal and enjoy craft beers (with or without alcohol) from Brasserie Nemeto. The most playful of all the food attractions remains the smoothie bike: pedal to produce your own organic fruit juice and then savor it. A fitting symbol for an event that values both commitment and enjoyment equally.

The fair will be open on Friday, April 10th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., then on Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th of April, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Villa Saint-Cyr, located at 25 Boulevard Carnot in Bourg-la-Reine. Entry is free, and all activities are complimentary. For those traveling by public transport, the RER B Bourg-la-Reine station is just a short walk away. More information is available on the City of Bourg-la-Reine’s website.

VertAvril is aimed at gardening enthusiasts, families with children, urban nature lovers, and anyone seeking an engaging and restorative outing just outside Paris. To extend your green walk in the Hauts-de-Seine area, you might also explore the gardens of the Domaine de Sceaux, nearby, or take a relaxing break at the Vallée aux Loups Arboretum in Châtenay-Malabry.
