This Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Château de Breteuil invites you to a thoroughly bucolic evening, at the heart of its domain in the Yvelines. To celebrate the arrival of summer, join a picnic in the formal gardens, accompanied by a concert of classical music by the ensemble Dionysos, musicians of the National Orchestra of France, on the lawns that border the grand water mirror.
In this magical setting, family, friends and couples simply need to unfold their blanket and lay out their picnic on the lawn to watch the last light of day from 7:30 p.m., before the castle façade lights up and the gardens come alive. You can wander until 9 p.m. through the jardin à la française, stroll among the blooms in the Jardin des Princes, venture into the maze, and discover tale tableaux staged in the château’s outbuildings!
Head next to the castle’s north terrace to enjoy the sounds of a string quartet—violin and cello—performing classics by renowned composers such as Mozart, Bach, and Rameau. Note that the evening ticket can be used during the day to visit the castle. If the idea is really to bring your own picnic, you can also reserve appetizer boards (online) or head to the drinks and sweet treats stand.
