Following Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, Disneyland Paris pushes ahead with major refurbishments... While a complete overhaul of Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril and Space Mountain is eagerly anticipated (a sturdy roller coaster, well maintained, typically has a lifespan of about forty years, and we’re nearing the end of that cycle...), the refurbishment will finally fall to Crush's Coaster, the roller coaster located at Disney Adventure World (you know, the new name for the Walt Disney Studios...) to undergo a more or less complete rehabilitation. A lengthy closure of 10 months, during which the attraction will no longer welcome visitors from September 7, 2026, through summer 2027, as explained in a press release.
Overall, the works will unfold in two major phases: the first will be technical, involving a full replacement of several pieces of equipment, "including certain control systems, sensors, communication gear, and certain stretches of rails". As for the second phase, it will be "devoted to a broad campaign of tests and technical validations", two essential steps to "ensure the proper functioning of all installations before the attraction reopens", according to the press release.
Another project planned for the attraction: cleaning, repainting and repairing various scenic elements. The idea? "Bring back all the shine to the East Australian Current". This will be the largest rehabilitation of the attraction since its opening in 2007, following an initial closure for works in 2015 that lasted six months. Mark your calendar for the reopening to see if this major refurb gives a新的 lease on life to one of the park’s most popular rides.
