The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games were already a year ago. We remember vibrating from fanzone to fanzone, sometimes with the Phryge, admiring the events in the heart of the capital's iconic spots without forgetting the opening ceremony with the Seine as stage and the Olympic cauldron taking flight from the Tuileries while Edith Piaf's Hymne à l'Amour, performed by Céline Dion resounds from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
It had been 100 years since the City of Light hosted the Olympic Games, and Paris seized the opportunity to make history with this iconic competition. All summer long, the capital has been a party, and this spirit of the Games is about to be celebrated once again with the Fête de la Seine on July 26, 2025.
As a warm-up to the festivities, from July 5, 2025 swimming in the famous Parisian river will be open to the general public free of charge at three new sites as part of Paris Plages. This, too, is a first in 100 years. July 26 promises further highlights, echoing the opening ceremony with a full program of festivities. From the return of the Vasque to the floating parade on the Seine, we take a look at what's in store!
