Fête du Sport: celebrating the Olympic Games with free sporting events, the programme

For its first edition, the Fête du Sport is coming to Paris and the Ile-de-France region with hundreds of free activities and introductions, for young and old alike, giving you the chance to try out the sports that tempt you!

On September 14, 2024, on the sidelines of the athletes' celebration on the Champs-Elysées, Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of a Fête nationale du sport, to encourage young and old alike to move more. A highlight of the back-to-school season, this festival will also be an opportunity to continue celebrating the first anniversary of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games! From now on, this event will take place on this date every year, and many free activities await you for its first edition!

Friendly, free and inclusive sporting events are organized by clubs, associations, local authorities and companies all over the country, includingintroductions to different sporting disciplines for all ages, spectacular performances and demonstrations, the discovery of sport and well-being, and meetings with those who make sport happen every day: athletes, para-athletes, volunteers, sports managers...

At the end of this national day, the cauldron will shine one last time, before being symbolically extinguished, marking the end of a summer of celebrations. Visit the Ministry of Sports website to find the activities nearest you!
