If I tell you Rosa Bonheur, you'll answer: guinguettes, the pleasures of the Midi, the spirit of the Camargue, communion, sharing, respect, unforgettable Parisian nights, memorable encounters... yes, words fail us. Since 2008, the Rosa Bonheur spirit has reigned over Paris like a Camargue banner known to all. And there's no end in sight. After Rosa Bonheur des Buttes-Chaumont, Rosa Bonheur sur Seine opposite Pont Alexandre III and Rosa Bonheur à l'Ouest, in Asnières-sur-Seine, the happy team has opened a new address in Paris. This time, they're heading for the Bois de Vincennes to discover Rosa à l'Est - Porte Jaune.
For this new human and festive adventure, Rosa Bonheur has chosen a bucolic and historic location. In 1860, under Napoleon III and at the request of Empress Eugénie, Baron Haussmann decided to build a hunting lodge for the imperial court at the Chalet de la Porte Jaune on Lac des Minimes. In 1872, the City of Paris finally took possession of the site and converted it into a restaurant.
As for the decor, hang on to your hats, because Rosa à l'Est - Porte Jaune is going to blow your mind. Imagine greenery all around you, with the lapping of water, the chirping of ducks and, above all, a magnificent sunset over Lac des Minimes. There's no doubt about it, Rosa à l'Est - Porte Jaune is the new must-see spot in eastern Paris, for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy a festive spirit in the middle of nature.
Don't panic, Chalet de la Porte jaune is just a 10- and 15-minute walk from the Fontenay-sous-Bois and Nogent-sur-Marne RER stations respectively. If you're a user of metro line 1, you'll need to take the 20-minute walk to reach the site from the Château de Vincennes station.
So, what does this new 8,000 m² spot have in store for you? In concrete terms, there are three buildings on the island: on one side, the famous chalet, and on the other, the " fermette ", dedicated to family celebrations and soon to be transformed into a winter garden. We save the best for last with the belvedere. It's here, in this modern building of some 1,000 m², that Rosa Bonheur gives rhythm to her festive and relaxed air, straight from the Camargue. With its large bay windows and open-air bar, Parisians can truly disconnect and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The best part? The view of the sunset and the lake from the belvedere. In the words of Mimi (Michelle Cassaro, co-founder of Rosa Bonheur, ed.), this is where " it's going to happen ".
Of course, the formula remains unchanged. On the island of Rosa Bonheur, guinguette-style evenings are the order of the day. " A guinguette is a place where you can eat, drink, sing and dance," says Mimi.
Food-wise, Rosa à l'Est offers its legendary wood-fired pizzas (the Queen, the vegetarian, the Margarita...), as well as tapas (sweet pork chorizo, Bayonne ham, PDO bullfighting terrine...), black olive tapenade and cheese... And to accompany it all, there's beer, wine and the inevitable rosé, iced infusions, not forgetting Ricard!
With the takeover of this new site, won following an invitation to tender launched by the City of Paris, Rosa Bonheur continues the history of bals musettes and guinguettes on the banks of the Marne. A spirit dear to Mimi - Michelle Cassaro -, Zouzou - Céline Auzou - and Pascal Caucheteux, the fine team behind the Rosa Bonheur concept. More than 12 years after the birth of their first baby in Buttes-Chaumont, this new addition to the Rosa Bonheur family will once again brighten up the daily lives of Parisians and Ile-de-France residents, and put a smile back on their faces.
