In the family of exceptional brunches, we call the Peninsula Paris! This palace, located a stone's throw from the Étoile traffic circle and the Champs-Élysées, offers a gargantuan brunch every Sunday, combining a variety of dishes with fine cuisine. Wondering what's on offer and whether it's really worth the price? We'll take you there!
So, make no mistake, there are 2 brunches at Péninsula! The Saturday brunch at Lili for fans of Chinese cuisine, and the Sunday brunch at Lobby, which we reveal in this article.
So it's in the elegant setting of the Lobby that we settle in to discover this giant all-you-can-eat brunch. We discover a Belle Époque-style lounge where chandeliers, colonnades and marble create a hushed atmosphere. From the first notes of the piano and the soft voice of the live singer, a discreet magic is created, ideal for savoring an exceptional moment far from the hustle and bustle of Paris. The musical brunch at the Peninsula Paris becomes a timeless interlude.
Once comfortably seated at our table, we set off to discover the brunch room, set in a rotunda with numerous stations all around the room and in the center. We start with a farandole of fine charcuterie, the famous seafood and oysters galore, mixed salads and multicolored carpaccios, not forgetting the sushi and steamed dim sum that give the buffet an Asian touch.
Fans of hearty brunches will appreciate the station in the center dedicated to eggs, from breaded Benedicte to a caviar version for the more curious. You can also ask for your eggs minute. The center also offers savory croissants, gazpachos and elaborate rolls.
The gustatory promenade continues with a generous hot buffet featuring roast duck, melting scrambled eggs and spectacular beef Wellington à la carving, taking us on a journey between French cuisine and inspirations from elsewhere.
The impressive selection of mature cheeses and the variety of breads are also worth a look, before you give in to the sweet temptation: golden viennoiseries, homemade cakes, and a host of pastries where cheesecake sits alongside a creamy flan and a perfectly executed chocolate Saint-Honoré. A special mention goes to the chocolate fountain, where you can dip a few fresh fruits into the fountain for a delicious treat, or perhaps you'd like to try the pommes d'amour.
Hot beverages are served as and when you like, a perfect accompaniment to this Sunday feast. For our part, we chose a good cappuccino and a matcha latte, accompanied of course by the house's beautiful viennoiseries.
Whether you're a couple, a family or a group of friends, this immersive experience in the world of the Parisian Palace should be enjoyed at least once, for the pleasure of the palate as well as the ears. The restaurant also boasts a terrace overlooking Avenue Kléber, where you can soak up the sun in fine weather.
This luxurious two-course brunch is served from 12pm to 5pm, and costs €185 per adult and €92 for children under twelve. Obviously, it's not cheap, but what an experience!
In short, if you want to savor a magical moment and treat yourself to a brunch featuring a wide range of dishes, the Péninsula Paris could be just what you're looking for. Don't forget to book.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
