We've been waiting for ages (well, ever since Quentin Lechat arrived at the palace), and now Quentin Lechat 's tea time at the Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris is finally unveiled. Even before the arrival of the Easter tea time, which we've already announced and which is coming soon, it's the "classic" tea time that's unveiled to us.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 5pm, you can feast on the chef's gourmet creations. Head for the Bar Long and its cosy armchairs, with an ideal view over the restful interior garden, to discover a gourmet break not in display but in 4 sequences.
Indeed, here the chef has decided to reinvent the classic tea time to offer a gourmet journey in different sequences. Sequences which, as you'd expect, will evolve with the seasons. We start by choosing a hot drink, such as this excellent, creamy hot chocolate, which can be made longer at your convenience.
In this early spring, we start with a pretty variety of mini pastries, including the famous"Princes", accompanied by new fruity creations.
We then continue with a boutique cake (la perle vanille), as beautiful as it is divine, this pastry that bursts with vanilla on the palate is just incredible.
One of the sequences is performed live and in front of you. So, for this opening, we start with the"chaud/froid chocolat grand cru" served minute by minute on the plate.
Here, exchange is at the heart of the experience, so the pastry chefs will come and meet you to share this gourmet moment. The snack ends on a high note with a tasting of the famous travel cakes. From the divine, melt-in-the-mouth marble cake, to the tangy brioche with a lemon center, to Quentin Lechat's much-loved flan.
To perfect this divine moment, we needed a pretty mixological pairing. So we turned to the bar team, who suggested a signature Mocktail with cocoa mucilage, a surprisingly non-alcoholic cocktail. Of course, this afternoon tea can be accompanied by a bonus of bubbles for Champagne lovers.
This tea time costs €65 per person and €85 for the Champagne version.
Great discoveries!
