Let's discover the superb tea time at the InterContinental Paris le Grand. To mark the 150th anniversary of the Opéra Garnier, the Grand Hotel in the 9th arrondissement is hosting an exceptional Christmas tea time in collaboration with Maison Repetto. It's a wonderful idea for a getaway to celebrate the holiday season in a majestic setting, just a stone's throw from the Palais Garnier, which will be celebrating its anniversary throughout 2025.
For the festive season, L'Intercontinental Paris Le Grand has teamed up with Repetto to offer an enchanting interlude in the heart of Paris. Together, they are reinventing the magic of Christmas through a refined scenography, paying tribute to their famous neighbor, the Paris Opera. Exceptional tutus, iridescent tulle, and iconic pointe shoes make up a life-size ballet set, inviting guests to dream. In the glittering gold of the Grand Hotel, the holiday spirit unfolds with grace and elegance.
Take a seat under the sublime glass roof, a veritable 850-square-foot winter garden that stands as a haven of peace in the heart of the capital. It's as if, in this modern-day atrium, the hustle and bustle of Paris comes to a halt for the duration of a Parisian tea time. Like the metal dome of the Grand Palais, this glass roof fascinates with its volume and clarity.
As soon as you enter, the ballet begins and you discover the beautiful installations that honor the Opera. Under the glass roof, a majestic cream and pink Christmas tree is revealed. Ballet shoes and tutus form the backdrop for this exceptional Christmas. The atmosphere evokes the backstage of a grand show, where the magic happens before the curtain rises.
The tea time menu offers a gourmet selection that combines French tradition and refinement. It starts with festive biscuits accompaniedby spiced orange marmalade and Ferme d'Étrez double cream. The selection of sandwiches includes duck foie gras with fruit and cocoa chutney, lobster with cocktail sauce, and a vegetarian option with tomato marmalade and black olives.
On the pastry side, you'll find French classics such as millefeuille and Opéra , accompanied by the signature creation: L'Adage à la Rose. This pastry pays tribute to the ballet Sleeping Beauty with its rosewater sponge cake, mandarin and vanilla mousse, mandarin confit, and milk chocolate cream. A composition that evokes the delicacy of a prima ballerina. All this is accompanied by a hot drink of your choice.
This creation echoes the L'Adage à la Rose Christmas log cake offered by the Café de la Paix, also located in the hotel. Pastry chef Simon Letaillieur has created these desserts inspired by iconic tutus drawn from the archives of Maison Repetto.
The Grand Christmas Tea is held every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at La Verrière, from November 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The price is €70 per person, including a glass of Champagne, or €120 for two people, also including Champagne. This package allows you to prolong the experience in this enchanting setting, opposite the Palais Garnier.
This afternoon tea is for those looking for an exceptional venue. Under the immense glass roof, the setting and the Christmas tree decorated in honor of dance are truly breathtaking. Although tea time costs €120 for two, or €60 per person, it is still more affordable than the surrounding luxury hotels. Without reservations, this place is very popular and you can expect to wait. Remember to arrive early and plan for a wait.
The InterContinental Paris le Grand is located at 2 rue Scribe, just a few meters from the Opéra Garnier. The palace, a historic monument inaugurated in 1862, shares a close history with the temple of dance. Maison Repetto, located on Rue de la Paix since 1947, completes this trio of Parisian institutions that together celebrate French art, dance, and elegance.
In short, this Christmas tea time transforms the traditional afternoon snack into a true artistic performance. Between the splendor of La Verrière, the scenography by Repetto, and the gourmet creations inspired by ballet, you will experience a timeless interlude that pays tribute to 150 years of one of the most beautiful monuments in Paris. A wonderful discovery for lovers of classical dance, gastronomy, and exceptional moments in the capital.
