We’ve already introduced you to Dopo, the Italian restaurant in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine) opened by the hosts of RMC’s After Foot. This time we headed back to quai Georges Gorse for one very specific reason: to test the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch, and we left well and truly stuffed…
First thing that strikes you is the scale. The indoor room, with its stylish semi-industrial vibe and a tree planted in the center, can seat up to 110 diners. On the terrace, the two spaces that flank the room at the corner push the capacity to 200. It’s spacious, airy, and yet, during our visit, the service was fully booked. Several people were turned away for lack of a reservation. To be clear: book ahead, it’s essential.
The Sunday buffet is available every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at €30 per person (€15 for children). On the table, all the Italian kitchen does best: salads, antipasti, arancini, pistachio fusilli, ricotta–spinach lasagna, house-made pizzas. The smoked burrata and the truffle pasta are among the buffet’s showpieces and are worth a detour on their own.
A table is specifically laid out to host pizzas cut into slices. This way you can taste everything, from the 4-cheese pizza to the truffle pizza, and the ham and mushroom pizza. One drawback: they cool quickly, so don’t linger if you want them hot. The Neapolitan pizzas bear the signature of Yoann Pasquale Mormile, executive chef and world champion in the discipline in 2023. It’s no surprise the dough is well worked, with good structure and a controlled bake.
For dessert, a selection of sweets including the tiramisu, fresh fruit salad, cannoli and the Sicilian doughnuts, served piping hot. The latter, far lighter than churros, go down easily.
Honestly, for 30 euros all-you-can-eat and this level of quality, the answer is yes. It isn’t the smoothie-and-avocado-toast brunch you find everywhere else. Here, you eat generous, well-cooked Italian fare in a polished setting just a stone’s throw from the Seine Musicale. It’s clearly a format aimed at fans of Italian cuisine who want to treat themselves without constraints, with family or friends, without having to scrutinize the menu for every dish.
To go with the meal, the cocktail list is worth a look as well. Five spritz are on offer, including a refreshingly amaro and peach spritz, and classic cocktails like the Manhattan are well-made, priced at €12.
Dopo is at 63-64 quai Georges Gorse in Boulogne-Billancourt, just a short walk from La Seine Musicale. The Sunday brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., reservations only, bookable directly on the website or by phone.
