The city of Boulogne has no shortage of great places to eat, and here is one spot that should bring together both soccer fans and lovers ofItalian food : Dopo! This is a sports bar, but not only that! In a friendly setting inspired by Brooklyn architecture, this XXL restaurant with a covered and open terrace is a hybrid venue. Let us explain.
Behind the scenes is a duo well known to soccer fans: Gilbert Brisbois and Daniel Riolo fromAfter Foot. There is even a recording studio here, bringing the show closer to its community. For listeners, this trattoria is a real-life reference: because yes, althoughAfter Foot is about football, Daniel can't help talking about food and makes no secret of his love for Italian cuisine.
A love of good food and a love of sports come together in a friendly atmosphere that brings together groups of friends and families alike (and yes, there is a children's menu). On the menu, between private jokes, good food remains a serious matter.
Everything here is 100% homemade, with carefully selected ingredients and nothing left to chance, from finger food to dessert, with prices in line with those usually found in Paris. There is choice, but not too much; quality takes precedence over quantity, and you'll find both comforting dishes and more refined offerings, including cocktails.

During our visit, we were tempted by the homemade truffle pasta, with cortecce served al dente, soft with just the right amount of bite, with a creamy, generous sauce, including (real) truffle. In fact, this is precisely what we appreciate as much about the pasta as we do about the pizzas: here, there is no skimping on the toppings.
We obviously wanted to put the Neapolitan oven to the test and highly recommend the Dopo Ragú pizza: on a tomato sauce base, you'll find beef simmered for 24 hours, tender and juicy, fior di latte mozzarella, and plenty of Parmesan cheese. The dough is very easy to digest, so you don't feel heavy or "artificially full." If the pizza ends up getting the better of you, it's probably due to the generous toppings: you have been warned!
When it came to dessert, although the tiramisu caught our eye, common sense prevailed after such a hearty meal. So we opted for churros instead, and there was a surprise in store: these doughnuts reminded us more of a sweet version of fried calzone, which we dipped in turn into dulce de leche caramel, nocciolata, and pistachio pieces.
Please note that Dopo is not intended to be purely a sports restaurant, but rather a place that is open to everyone. During important matches, there is a vibrant and passionate atmosphere with good visibility on the various screens, including on the terrace. Otherwise, matches are broadcast without sound, leaving everyone free to watch or not.
