What would life be without a little spice? If you're a fan of spicy flavors, you'd say it's all too bland. And that's exactly what a hot new concept has come up with, not far from the BNF, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris: the Spicy Festival. The idea? Spicy recipes and festive entertainment for gourmets who don't mind a bit of spice.
This first edition will take place from June 2 to 8, 2025, on the forecourt of the MK2 Bibliothèque François Mitterrand cinema. For the occasion, several food-trucks will be serving up exclusive, spicy and even ultra-spicy dishes. The cast includes a number of familiar names: Le Camion qui Fume, known for its burgers, Plus de Piment for cuisine with Asian accents, Savane&Mousson for a surprising Afro-Asian fusion, Papa Funk which puts Martinique in the spotlight, Comidas Turia and its Spanish gastronomy, as well as the doughnut bar Mikate Coffee.
It's an interesting selection, to say the least, and promises some pretty original discoveries, doesn't it? In addition to the exclusive recipes to be unveiled by the food trucks, the Spicy Festival also features a seven-day program of entertainment, including hot sauce tastings, challenge games and DJ sets. A final word of advice: take a carton of milk with you - you never know! Your eyes could be bigger than your stomach!
