Nestled in the heart of Paris, astone's throw from Place de la Madeleine, the Alfred Sommier Hotel welcomes us in an atmosphere of calm and refinement. This architectural gem, open to the public since 2018, preserves the soul of a family home while offering the comfort of a five-star hotel. Its ideal location, near the Opera Garnier, the Champs Elysées and the Grands Magasins, makes it a peaceful refuge in a serene street of Paris.
A descendant of this family, still the owner today, has chosen to give the mansion a more contemporary soul. But when you enter theHôtel Alfred Sommier, it's a bit like diving into a bygone Paris.
Built in 1860 by Alfred Sommier, a sugar magnate, this mansion was first the family residence of the rich businessman . His descendants showed remarkableentrepreneurial spirit in transforming this former mansion into a prestigious accommodation address in Paris. Today, the privileged guests of the Alfred Sommier Hotel are the guests of Richard de Warren, Sommier's descendant and current owner.
Outside, a pretty courtyard, calm and soothing, a private garden, and beyond a 1950s glass roof, a bar and a restaurant called Les Caryatides, where Chef Edouard Ogier regales us. On the short menu of the restaurant, fresh and seasonal products, and exceptional dishes that honor the history of the place. On the first floor, there are three historical and event rooms that can accommodate up to 250 people.
On the upper floors, 80 rooms, including 20 suites, where luxurious materials are combined: herringbone parquet floors, marble, painted overmantels, gilding, and a monumental staircase supported by two caryatids.
From the classic rooms, tinted duck blue or royal blue, to the suites on the 5th floor, offering an exceptional view of the Eiffel Tower and the Butte Montmartre from their terraces, everything is done to make the client feel at home, while enjoying an exceptional setting and service. Just like the presence of a fitness room, which is there for the pleasure of the customers!
We let ourselves be bewitched by the room that honors Vaux le Vicomte and the golden suite. It is worth noting that it was Alfred Sommier who, by buying the Château de Vaux le Vicomte, financed the restoration of the monument, which is still in the family today. It is therefore thanks to him that we can still enjoy this jewel today.
New in 2023, a rooftop nestled at the top of the mansion, is born in this spring. Imagine a large and wide terrace of 60m2 overhanging the roofs and offering a 360° view on the capital, here is what to offer a beautiful sight.
