It's a sunny address that shines on the side of Saint-Philippe du Roule in the 8tharrondissement of Paris. Not far from theAvenue des Champs-Elysées, the Tìo restaurant invites you to experience a change of scenery and a taste of Latin America. This modern Tequeria, with its bright, chill atmosphere, welcomes you in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where you'll feel right at home. With its tacos, ceviche and sun-drenched cocktails, the Tequeria promises to awaken the taste buds of gourmets, while helping them to (re)discover the must-try dishes of Mexican cuisine, Tìo style!
To kick off this escapade, Tìo offers us its starters to share (or not), including a Venezuelan speciality that should delight all food lovers: tequeños. Imagine melted cheese wrapped in a crispy pastry and dipped in guacamole. That's how this address appeals to gourmets.
If you prefer something a little lighter, refreshingceviche is on the menu, including Cebiche Tulum, one of the restaurant's recommendations, which features fresh white fish, prawns, avocado, jalapeño wheel, onion, coriander and lemon. Beware if you have sensitive taste buds, this recipe is quite spicy. It should nevertheless appeal to those who want something spicy on their plate.
The stars of the menu are the tacos, served as a trio, with the option of adding more for an extra charge. Choose from one of six recipes, the flagship of which is the Special Tìo, the house signature recipe featuring tempura prawns with their juicy flesh, a special mayonnaise and radishes.
You'll also be tempted by the excellent recipe for lamb confit, onions and coriander, with its melt-in-your-mouth, slightly sweet-savory accents, as well as the vegetarian option with sautéed mushrooms, ajillo sauce, parsley, avocado cream and crunchy onion. Compositions that have nothing to be ashamed of when compared to the signature recipe! Although the prices of the dishes are relatively high, they are nevertheless in line with those of the neighborhood, and the address demonstrates rigor in the choice and freshness of its ingredients.
If ił you still have room for dessert, then you shouldn't miss out on the Tres Leches, the famous three-milk cake, quite popular in Latin America whose origins date back to medieval times in Europe. The Tìo version is surprisingly light, but still retains the deliciousness of this pastry. The sugar is well-balanced, the sponge cake well soaked, and the whole comes together to close this beautiful stopover with a Latin flavour.
