The festive season is upon us. Paris sparkles with a thousand lights, enchanting young and old alike during this enchanted period synonymous with conviviality, love and sharing. Christmas means Christmas, and Christmas means gourmet delights! On our festive tables, an unmissable star rounds off these sweet moments spent with loved ones, and imposes itself like a final bouquet: the Yule log.
And this year, pastry chef Matthieu Carlin is setting the bar high—and the log too!—atthe Hôtel de Crillon on Place de la Concorde. In this palace where everything is luxury, sweetness, and delicacy, he has created a dessert that is as architectural as it is delicious: the 2025 Christmas log, designed in collaboration with Christofle, the hotel's historic supplier. A summit meeting between pastry expertise and the art of the table, enhanced by the motif of the iconic Malmaison Impériale porcelain collection, which elegantly adorns the sides of this limited edition.
Beneath this sweet reinterpretation of the Crillon's façade, pleasure is revealed layer by layer. Dip your spoon into a creamy Madagascar vanilla mousse, followed by a compote of pan-fried apples and a soft biscuit enclosing a delicious crunchy almond praline and homemade speculoos. A subtle hint of spice instantly evokes childhood Christmases, while white chocolate fir trees at the entrance add a colorful touch to the whole.
Balanced, light yet ultra-comforting, this log cake serves 6 to 8 people and can be pre-ordered from November 10, 2025, and picked up via Click & Collect at the Butterfly patisserie. An exceptional dessert, where architecture, expertise and indulgence come together to light up the festive season as much as the Place de la Concorde.
