Pierre Hermé has opened a brand-new and spacious café set in rue de Grenelle within Beaupassage, the new food temple in Paris. This Café-tea house expects us daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in a large and light space decorated by Laura Gonzalez!
After opening 86Champs on the Champs-Elysées back in December 2017, Pierre Hermé keeps taking over Paris with a new café-store. People can come for lunch, grab a coffee as well as buying the chef’s take-away pastries!
When we asked him why opening tea houses, Pierre Hermé told us: “I’m really interested in the barista universe. Because it’s a profession very close to the profession of a pastry chef and complementing the profession of a pastry chef. Because when we want to enjoy a pastry, what goes along a pastry well it's a tea or a coffee.” And of course, we agree with him. There’s nothing quite like a beautiful cozy area for a gourmet break.
Pierre Hermé breakfast
For breakfast, Pierre Hermé offers us classic pastries, Ispahan croissant (€2.40), Gugelhupf (€4.20), granola, yoghurt and fresh fruits to enjoy with teas, delicious coffees or a hot cocoa for €12. Please note the offer is not the same than the one at 86Champs: we were disappointed not to find the Cascaccino (the cappuccino with cocoa nibs) not the Mogador hot chocolate.
For a king breakfast, the Petit-déjeuner Parisien set menu includes a fresh fruit juice, a hot drink, a pastry of your choice (treat yourself and give a go to the gianduja pain au chocolat, the Ispahan croissant or the Gugelhupf to die for) for €14!
Lunch menu by Pierre Hermé
At lunch, we melt when reading the menu highlighting vegetables, leguminous plants and proteins served with wines or alcohol-free cocktails. After the summer, we don’t know if we should order the quinoa salad with marinated tofu teriyaki way, pomegranate seeds and young sprouts (€14) or the organic shrimps from Madagascar, cucumber tagliatelle with coconut milk, pomelos and fresh cilantro (€15). Then, the sea bream ceviche with citrus fruits (€19), the roasted Bresse poultry, eggplant caviar, grapefruit, avocado and fresh cilantro (€28) promise a very tasty lunch.
Children can come along the meal with a €17-menu likely to please them. They can choose between: Bolognese spaghetti, roast chicken with French fries or croque-monsieur that are really tantalizing and are rewarded two macarons or an ice cream scoop.
Pastries available all day long
All afternoon long, Pierre Hermé treats us with his best pastries, ice creams and drinks he created with the best ingredients to be enjoyed with macarons for an assumed gourmet break!
Let’s go for the iconic Ispahan macaron (litchi, rose, raspberry), the 2000 feuilles (a mille-feuille with hazelnut praline, yes please!), the Ultime (a delicious cake with a smooth Pure Origin Belizean dark chocolate cream and vanilla), as well as his Infiniment Chocolat hot chocolate, his Lapar red coffee from Brazil (fruity, smooth and chocolatey) and his Ispahan ice cream scoop!

Gourmet people will even dare to take the Teatime Fetish highlighting the Ispahan and Infiniment Chocolat flavors. At €70 for two, we share a crazy feast. The table is even too small to display everything: the Ispahan pastry, the Carrément Chocolat pastry, the 2 Ispahan macarons and the 2 Infiniment Chocolat macarons, the slice of Ispahan cake and the Praline & Chocolate cake slice, the Ispahan croissant, the gianduja pain au chocolat and the 2 Ispahan mocktails and the two Infiniment Chocolat hot chocolates accompanying all this!
